Reporter
Reporters will work with the College News Editor to report on college related stories and events. They should be resourceful, have a sense of inquiry and an awareness of good journalistic style. This position is ideal for those interested in pursuing journalism as a career. Some training will be provided.
Staff Writer
A staff writer writes articles on any number of topics for whichever sections are of interest to them. Staff writers are not tied to giving a specific number of articles: they may write more than one article for more than one section, or as little as one article every second issue. The editors of the sections they write for will advise them on deadlines, word counts and content.
Columnist
Columnists will write one regular column per fortnight (c.700-900 words) in a particular section. They should have a lively and engaging tone, and an ability to work to deadlines.
