A remembrance evening will be held in Trinity Hall later today in memory of a resident who died at the weekend.
A book of condolence will also be available to sign which will be sent to the family of the deceased.
Residents were informed in an email from the warden of Trinity Hall yesterday of the passing of Esha Goenka, whose funeral will take place in Luxembourg later this week.
“Our community is greatly diminished with Esha’s passing,” wrote Dr Roja Fazaeli in the email.
“I’m sure all of our thoughts are turned toward Esha’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
“If there is anyone who needs support in light of this news the Assistant Warden team will be present in Oldham on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings this week from 7-9pm for drop-in conversation and listening over tea,” the email added.
The Trinity Hall Junior Common Room (JCR) made a statement on Instagram expressing their “deepest sympathy and condolences to the friends and family of Esha at this difficult time”.
It announced that it was cancelling a social event due to be held tonight out of respect.
“If you are struggling, do not hesitate to contact your Assistant Warden,” the JCR statement advised.
“Additionally, the JCR and SCR can help you access emergency counselling sessions with the student counselling services.”
The remembrance evening will be held at 7pm in Oldham House.
